“Americas Greatest Little City” is a city of 27,000 about 60 miles to the southwest of Atlanta. The county seat of Troup County, LaGrange is known as a transportation hub because of Interstates 85 and 185.
Troup County School System contains twelve elementary schools, three middle schools and three high schools. LaGrange boasts LaGrange College, the oldest private college in Georgia. Another option for higher education is in West Georgia Technical College, also in LaGrange.
Troup County Parks and Recreation Department runs local matters of leisure and maintains the parks of LaGrange. It was named by One Magazine one of the best football development programs in the country. Football is big here, and both Troup County High School and LaGrange High School have graduated stars. Some of the NFLs stars have come out of LaGrange. For fun, people can go to the 3-Creeks Entertainment complex. This is a “family fun center” that offers roller skating, camping, fishing, batting cages, swimming and water slides. LaGrange takes pride in its art community. Residents can enjoy the sounds of the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra or visit the LaGrange Art Museum. LaGrange is a short distance east of beautiful West Point Lake.
